Information On hp tablet pc

I bought this laptop in 2008. Esthetically, it’s beautiful, glossy. The swivel screen is great, especially when travelling in tight airplane seats. However, after only a year I’ve had to reformat the hard drive once, I’ve lost icons to programs and have lost all wi-fi access. The computer does not recognize there is even a wireless card installed. Even the regular ethernet port is inaccessible at times. The worst part, is that HP has horrible customer service and they do not recognize the problems. It comes down to a terrible design flaw that makes its pieces incompatible with one another. The motherboard can be replaced, but eventually the computer will have the same problems. The pieces such as the wireless card and motherboard are perfectly fine. It’s the way this computer and their pavilion laptop line have been designed and built that is defected. Even if you get an extended warranty, it will not make a difference because your computer will crash. No amount of repairs will fix it. I think HP has done something incredibly unethical for continuing to put these models out on the market knowing they have inherent problems. DO NOT BUY!!! It’s one of the most affordable for a reason- it sucks!

Bought this refurbished, and everything was as specified. It plays TF2 and L4D well enough though it has such a small pale screen. Has 4GB ram which is a lot for a laptop. A good tablet and general laptop.

Pros:
Wacom Penabled tablet with an eraser
Vista Ultimate
Small and Light
Can play games in a pinch
Touchpad can be disabled

Cons:
Spacebar is flimsy
Screen is pale

Other thoughts:
I thought it would run hotter after reading so many complaints. I should buy a better battery for it.

I got this tablet pc from HP last month and let tell you, this is a great tablet, it is fast, very light, the tablet function are useful and fun. You can navigate windows with the stylus.

The basic concept of this computer is excellent and I have found the tablet function to be useful and fun. However, managing software with it has been a nightmare. It is unclear whether the issue is XP or XP for Tablet PC, but I suspect it is the latter. Every time I have loaded software it hasn’t worked – seriously, every time. I have had to do numerous workarounds, and still many programs are not working. HP has been very responsive, but it doesn’t change the basic problem with the software. I do not recommend this machine nor XP for Tablet PC on any computer.

This is an excellent quality tablet pc. It seems to be very sturdy but at the same time fairly light. Overall I haven’t had any problems with it. Keep in mind that an optical drive is not included. Everyone who sees it thinks it is really cool looking as most of the people I have worked with haven’t seen a tablet pc before.

When I noticed that the computer did not have an optical drive in the computer, I thought I had to buy it separately. The Seller I got mine from had the accessory for the optical drive with it. If you want this kind of computer MAKE SURE IT COMES WITH AN OPTICAL DRIVE AS AN ACCESSORY!! Now I just need to take the time to use the thing! I bought the tablet computer to draw on the computer screen instead of on an external tablet.

The company that sold me this item lied about what the system had on it. When I called them they told me they would send me the part that I need for free and I STILL HAVE NOT RECIEVED IT. This have been two weeks ago.

There was a mistake about the procesor and the ram memory. Also the hard disk. instead of having 4 gb of ram it came with 3. the processor is the TL-60 instead the tl-58. and the HDD is about 148 instead of 160. The most important thing is the ram memory because it would affect the price of the computer. please be more careful and i think that i should get a discount or something like a gift certificate so i can use that money to buy another tinhgs. unfortunately the computer is already in venezuela and that is why i dont consider to send it back to get the proper product. Anyhow the shiping was good.

Just look on the web to see all the problems with this machine, issues with wireless failing, over heating and video card dying. Indeed it gets so hot you can burn yourself and do not set it down on paper or it may start a fire. Avoid this machine and possibly HP.

It pains me to write this as I have been a big HP fan but recently their laptops are disappointing.

The touchscreen is fun to use with either your hands or with the included pen. The screen has a wide range of brightness, so you can make it comfortable at night or during the day. There’s a button that reorients the screen four different ways, so you can get it to face up no matter how you use it since the display can be rotated and clamped down on top of keyboard. The laptop itself is fast, and I can have multiple programs running without lags and freezes. Keyboard buttons are big and comfortable for typing (they made the rarely used keys on the top row smaller so they can make the main keys bigger, which I thought was a really simple but smart idea). Webcam quality is pretty good. DVD drive, bluetooth, wiFi, three USB ports, a slot for my camera’s memory card, and some other ports that I haven’t used. It has all the features that I want. Overall it’s a really cool laptop and I like it a lot.

I loved this computer for about 5 months. Until the heat began to auto shut my computer. The fan is working so hard to make sure it doesn’t overheat. I always put a books underneath it now so the air can circulate better. I’m pretty sure the heat problem is the reason why my wireless card now doesn’t work. From what I’ve read on other forums, this isn’t just a problem on my computer, but on the tx2000 series. I have three years extended warranty, but from what I’ve heard its not worth giving it to HP because the same problems will re occur, or worse you will got new ones.

I bought this to take notes in class, and it does the job. It quite light weight. The over sized battery doesn’t really bother me because I’m left handed.

It seems that HP isn’t really caring about their products anymore. So please don’t buy this computer or any HP product anymore.

Dilick December 27, 2009 at 2:49 pm

I ordered me a tx2000 series tablet PC, custom built, directly from HP. Cost about 1100 after I had it customized to fit my needs for graduate school. Loved this computer, until the motherboard went out after having it only 13 months. A repair that will end up being about $350 dollars! The unit had a problem with overheating. This machine would get hot enough to burn your hand. The repairman says that sometimes when a computer gets that hot, the processor will also burn out too. Just do your research and definitely buy an extended warranty, but good luck with customer service. I bought me a 14.1 inch Sony Vaio, and although it is a couple inches larger, I got a more powerful machine and have yet to have it even get slightly warm with use.
